Wheel Throwing

Children & Family Pottery Wheel
Classes

This is an exciting opportunity for your family or child to explore and develop their own creative ideas through the medium of clay. These sessions will include, hand building, throwing on the wheel and decorating.

The children will take inspiration from the world around, use sketchbooks to help them gather ideas then design and produce new and innovative outcomes that they can treasure. All work is glazed and fired on site.

We charge £25 per session and our classes take place termly on Monday and Thursday evenings. The classes are taught by Julian Brunt.

We are not able to offer catch-up sessions or refunds for any children’s classes missed.

Bookings for the Autumn term are now open! To book your child’s place, please use the forms provided below.

    •    Fine Motor Skill Development: Working with the pottery wheel enhances hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as children learn to shape and mold clay.

    •    Strength and Dexterity: Handling the clay and using tools helps build hand and arm strength, promoting better dexterity and control.

    •    Sensory Engagement: The tactile experience of working with clay provides sensory stimulation, which can be calming and therapeutic.

Emotional Benefits:

    •    Boosts Creativity: The course encourages self-expression and imagination as children design and create unique pieces.
