Dive into the spirit of autumn and Halloween with our 6-week, drop-off art course designed exclusively for young artists aged 11 to 16! Each week, teens will embark on a magical journey through a variety of sophisticated art projects, from sculpting and painting to crafting and storytelling, all while exploring the enchanting themes of autumn and Halloween. What Awaits You: Week 1: Advanced Clay Sculptures Activity: Create detailed and realistic clay sculptures of pumpkins, incorporating advanced texturing techniques. Learn about form, proportion, and the finishing touches to bring your pumpkins to life, ready to be glazed later in the course. Skills Developed: Sculpting, texturing, three-dimensional thinking. Weeks 2 & 3: Haunted House Architectural Design: Design and construct an elaborate haunted house model. Focus on architectural design principles and intricate details such as ghostly figures, eerie lighting, and weathered textures. Skills Developed: Architectural design, model-making, storytelling through art. Week 4: Spooky House Decor: Add intricate decorations and embellishments to your haunted house model. Use a variety of materials to create an authentically eerie atmosphere with fine details like cobwebs, lanterns, and ghostly apparitions. Skills Developed: Detail work, mixed-media application, creative problem-solving. Week 5: Glaze Your Sculptures: Return to your clay sculptures to add vibrant glazes and finishing touches. Learn about glazing techniques and how to achieve different finishes, from matte to glossy, to enhance your pumpkin sculptures. Skills Developed: Glazing, color theory, finishing techniques. Week 6: Halloween-themed Canvas Painting: Create a detailed Halloween scene on canvas, incorporating techniques like perspective, shading, and composition. Paint scenes featuring witches, haunted landscapes, or autumnal vistas.
