Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Pictura Studios is a family run Art centre created by myself (Kate Riley) and my husband (Steve Riley). HAving taught Art and design in high schools in wirral and runcorn, I decided to set up an art school for outside of the regular school curriculum, This started in our garage at home in eastham, wirral in 2018, and with the continuous build of lovely customers we have grown into a huge space in chester city centre. our team has expanded and we offer lots more than classes! We also have our creative cafe!
So early 2018 I decided to open an art club in my converted garage for students who love art and wanted to learn! having previously taught in high schools i had sympathy for the art lovers who maybe don't get to pursue their dreams due to gcse choice restraints, or bad behaviour from others in the classroom. i wanted to offer art for everyone to come in a relaxed environment and learn. This was very popular and by June we were opening a premises in New ferry, wirral, called the school of art. we offered home education classes, art clubs, holiday clubs, adult courses as well as painting and prosecco nights. once covid hit our small space felt even smaller. we had an amazing opportunity to open in chester city center! so june 2021 we received the keys! by august 15th 2021 steve and i had decorated and fitted the entire studio ready to open!
moving to Chester gave us an opportunity to change our name. With the romans being so dominant in Chester we rebranded to pictura studios - pictura meaning "painting" in Latin!
