Over the 6 weeks children will be enlightened to the world of Aboriginal Art, introducing them to the art of the indigenous people of Australia, learning their way of life and how they used art and symbols to communicate. Students will learn new, fun and exciting art techniques!

About the event

Welcome to our Fun  art course open to ages 6-10yrs old. This course encourages children's creativity to flourish, whilst developing their imagination and art skills. It is planned in 6 week terms to enable planning of more project base classes so students can build on prior learning and create a good understanding of art techniques, making masterpieces along the way.

Sign up for the next term to begin your creative journey with us! Students will be provided a sketchbook and encouraged to take this home and practice their skills learnt during class outside the classroom too.

4th January 2024: Aboriginal Art drawing, painting and clay course

Over the 6 weeks children will be enlightened to the world of Aboriginal Art, introducing them to the art of the indigenous people of Australia, learning their way of life and how they used art and symbols to communicate.  Students will leaan new, fun and exciting techniques all whilst building on their ability and fine motor skills.

Week 1: Learn about Aboriginal Art and Symbols, Create a map - pencils and colouring pencils Week 2: View finder - Select an area of interest, enlarge using oil pastels Week 3: Create clay tile inspired by artist Chris Kapono Week 4:Glaze clay tile

Week 5: Embellish clay tile. Learn about Cave paintings and create stencil art.

Week 6: Dot Art

£68 for the full course includes all materials and a sketchbook.
